2004 Mardi Gras Series: "Jester"

Other Models are available, at  Mardi Gras Coconuts.Com

This is one of the 6 new coconuts of the 2004 Mardi Gras which was held Feb. 24th, 2004 this season. These coconuts are entirely real coconuts, prepared by hand and made to last for a life time.

Each is carefully hand carved by a master coconut artist of New Orleans, Louisiana. Your souvenir is numbered and sold with an Artist signed certificate of authenticity.  Each comes in a white tissue lined box, with care instructions. You can't help but notice the highly polished hand rubbed finish. Each is carefully engraved and sanded to bring out the true beauty of the mahogany like deep brown grain of the nut. This hand engraving is that of the stick or hand Jester.

Prepared for the coming Carnival season, these special pieces are fast becoming the Carnival collector's choice, if you collect coconuts from Mardi Gras. You can display this collector's edition piece, with pride, knowing these are even hard for Zulu club members to get. In all of Carnival,  celebrated in New Orleans, Louisiana there are no other coconut souvenirs or mementoes that look this painstakingly made, and you can tell that a lot of time and work went into these keepsakes.

For those of you who don't know, these coconuts, are more preferable than getting those that come off the floats. Float nuts become moldy, faded, may sprout or spoil. This is because they were never meant to be kept for long periods of time.

The tradition was that "the catch," would be taken home and cracked open for a quick treat. We wouldn't recommend you do that today, you'll get sick! This practice along with the fact that they will leach oil, and spoil, is the reason not too many survive the years.

Now you can have that souvenir of New Orleans Carnival that you want. Get 'em now while the artist is offering them on the internet. The artist will only make approximately 500 of these, all by hand. Some will undoubtedly go to the local art and souvenir stores so if you can, please get your now!

They'll be triple this price Carnival Day!

Payment must be received by PayPal at the end of the auction. Shipping & Handling is $8.25, insurance extra. Stand is included at this price. Each comes in a white tissue lined box, with care instructions. Please allow up to 10 days to receive your custom made coconut.
