Mardi Gras Mischief

The season of 2003 has brought  a new day in Carnival coconut art and in Dolls this year! One of the biggest hits this season seems to be the dolls that were invented by Doll guru  and lover Connie Born .  This is our  rendition of the Logo on the  Label  for these Dolls entitled "Mischief Man" .

New Orleans, doll and Carnival collectors have been snapping up the dolls and  still others have begun to think of more uses that were not intended.

We thought a lot about the dolls and what the little guy means to us. We then concluded that a coconut was warranted to give between artists.  Connie loved them so much she now has her own doll coconuts.

The Mardi Gras man has come to symbolize the dolls and Connie's ingenuity, and steadfastness. Collect the first series of Coconuts that will recognize the  businesses of New Orleans and the spirit of Carnival and  yes,  America!!!

Note:  Any hand crafted, and/or natural product can not be reproduced in the same fashion exactly twice. This is because of the inherent defects that are unavoidable when a product is produced by hand.

Businesses in New Orleans are not allowed to advertise from the krewes and Floats that roll in the many parades held each season.

This new series of coconut art pieces by the foremost master of Coconut art in New Orleans are business Logo driven. There is character and meaning behind every logo out there. Some become so well known they're seen throughout the Country, and the world, while others are less known. But all deserve a look because there is art in the old and new designs as well.

Mardi Gras Coconuts, starting with the Mardi Gras Mischief Doll Coconut, begins a series of art coconuts that try to capture business personalities through the many Logos here in the city.

These coconuts are especially made to be unique in subjects and as a kind New Orleans Mardi Gras folkart memento. Each is real coconut, and has to be prepared by hand, as the artisan must have considerable skill in order to make the souvenir last for a life time. Collect the different Logo's of companies that will grant us permission to to copy their logos and partner with them for extra special events and the like.

Each souvenir is numbered and registered when sold. Each artist piece comes with an Artist signed certificate of authenticity, bearing the number of registration. After the memento is selected for shape, in order to hold the intended image, it is emptied of it's meat and milk content. The keepsake is then carefully sanded, crafted and hand polished by a true master craftsman, to bring out the true beauty of the deep brown grain of the nut's shell.

Prepared for the Carnival season, these Limited pieces honor New Orleans newest addition to Carnival art, "Mardi Gras Mischief".

Start your collection with this one of a kind coconut, and display this collector's edition piece, with pride. Because it's a unique item, found no where else but in New Orleans, will start a conversation every time, as people look in amazement of the amount of craftsmanship placed into a coconut.
