African Wildlife Series: "Monkey"

Other Models are available, at  Mardi Gras Coconuts

This is one of our new coconuts for the Wildlife Series, which showcases various animals in the African Jungle, Mountains, and plains. All our coconut art is done in entirely real coconut, prepared and decorated by hand and made to last as a life time souvenir. The pics, (as good as they are) do not do them justice, believe me! You'll be very surprised at how they look once you've seen them in person.

Each is carefully hand engraved by a master coconut artist of New Orleans, Louisiana. Your souvenir is numbered and sold with an Artist signed certificate of authenticity. Each  one in the Wildlife Series comes in a zebra themed tissue lined box, with care instructions. You can't help but notice the highly polished hand rubbed finish. Each is carefully engraved and sanded to bring out the true beauty of the mahogany like deep brown grain of the nut. This engraving is that of an African Tree Monkey, one of the many animals in the African wild.

The Tree Spider Monkey had yellowish-brownish fur, a black face, black extremities. Their face and head faces forward, is round in shape, and is small in proportion to their body size. In some areas the face and extremities are pink or mottled. The average head and body length is 18-25 inches (46-63 cm). They have long limbs and their prehensile tail is longer than their body length. Tails average in length from 25-32 cm.

Their diet consists of nuts, seed pods, leaves, and fruits that are on the trees or at the end of branches. They usually only eat leaves when they are forced to because the fruit is out of season. This monkey usually becomes specialized in one food category depending on where they are located in the forest and what foods are more abundant there.

This series is one of the five that will have extra special pieces, for the Carnival collector's choice, if you collect coconuts souvenirs from the New Orleans Mardi Gras. You can display this collector's edition piece, with pride, knowing these are even hard for Zulu club members to get. In all of Carnival in New Orleans, Louisiana there are no other coconuts that look this professionally made. Some even think that they are ceramic molds, too which we say, "No, this is a real nut!." Getting these coconuts, are more preferable than getting those others that are moldy and were never meant to be kept for long periods as a keepsake. Get 'em now while the artist is offering them on the internet.
